College Virtual Open Days 2021

With the end of the academic year fast approaching now is an important time for students in years 9, 10 and 11 to begin exploring their future options. Young people with social, emotional or mental health needs in specialist schools can find it helpful to be introduced to a range of options.

So, we at Wolfdale School would like to work with parents/carers to broaden knowledge of the options available. Here is a list of the open days available throughout April - August 2021:

 

Leicester College are currently offering virtual tours, which allows young people and parents to gain an insight of the college campus and the courses on offer. Students/ young people can hear from the current students and course tutors.

Leicester College are also offering ‘Ask the expert’ which allows young people to explore different parts of industry hearing from the experts themselves. They will be offering online workshops up until 31st May covering areas such as game development, finance, crime investigation and much more.

Homefield College is a college offering specialist provision for individuals with a range of needs, particularly autism. Their next open day will be on Saturday 3rd July where you will have the opportunity to explore their programme: Mission employable, skills for work & life, and personal development.

Brooksby Melton College- College Virtual Open Evening – Brooksby Campus - Brooksby Melton College

·        Wednesday 28th April 5pm- 8pm

·        Saturday 19th June, 9am/10am- 3pm

·        Thursday 19th August, 4pm- 6pm

(Register interest following the Brooksby Melton link above) Here you will be able to explore a wide range of courses on offer from animal care, hair and beauty, construction and much more.

 

Stephenson College are offering virtual tours for perspective students and their parents to explore the extensive range of vocational subjects including: Engineering, construction, plumbing, carpentry and joinery, motor vehicle, electrical installation, painting and decorating, health and social care, hair and beauty, childcare, animal care, uniformed services, IT and business studies.

North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College are yet to confirm their open day dates, so keep an eye out for any up-and-coming events. NWSLC offer a broad range of courses at a range of levels.

Loughborough College will give prospective students and parents time to explore their provision such as A levels, vocational courses for 16-19 year olds, apprenticeships, entry requirements and levels, student support, student finance, accommodation, how to apply and the application process, life at Loughborough College with our current students.
